Closet Clarity, the Progress Over Perfection Way

At Stanton Style Studio, we believe the spaces we live in should support who we are right now—not just who we once were or think we should be. And that includes your closet.
Closet editing doesn’t have to be a massive overhaul or a Marie-Kondo-level purge. It can be light, intuitive, and perfectly imperfect.

Start Where You Are
Every few months—or whenever your closet starts feeling a little cramped or chaotic—pause and ask:
Have I worn this in the last year?
Does it still fit how I live—and who I’m becoming?
Is it in good shape, or is it time to let it go?
Would I choose this again today?
Am I keeping it out of guilt, or a “maybe someday” story?
Trust the hesitation. That quiet pause is often your best guide.
Micro-Purging: Small Shifts, Big Impact
We’re big fans of micro-purges around here. They’re realistic, doable, and surprisingly satisfying.
A few ways to make space without the overwhelm:
Focus on one category—just denim, just knits, just shoes.
Set a 20-minute timer—a little rhythm can go a long way.
Create a “Hold” space—for the pieces you’re not quite ready to let go of. When the pile grows, you’ll have a natural donation batch—or a second pass with more clarity.
Sentimental Belongings Have a Place
Let’s be honest: not everything needs to be ruthlessly edited. It’s okay to hold on to a few “someday” pieces or the things that carry a meaningful memory. Design isn’t just about function—it’s about feeling.
The goal isn’t to strip your space down to the bare minimum. It’s to let what matters rise to the surface.
A Thoughtful Reset
Progress over perfection means we give ourselves permission to edit slowly, with care. Closet clarity doesn’t happen in one afternoon—it happens over time, in the quiet choices we make to honor who we are, what we need, and where we’re headed.
Start small. Stay curious. Let your space evolve alongside you.
